Spin-orbit misalignment from triple-star common envelope evolution

چکیده
Abstract I study a triple star common envelope evolution (CEE) of tight binary system that is spiraling-in inside giant and launches jets spin-up the with an angular momentum component perpendicular to orbital system. This occurs when plane are inclined each other, so not along momentum. The merger stars also tilts spin direction. If red supergiant (RSG) later collapses form black hole (BH) BH final misaligned Therefore, CEE neutron (NS) or binaries other one main sequence (MSS) RSG, where power supernova (CEJSN) event, might end NS/BH-NS/BH close spin-orbit misalignment. Such can merge be gravitational waves sources. list five scenarios lead misalignments systems, two which predict spins parallel other. Neutron star spin-kick velocity correlation effect on binary neutron star coalescence rates and spin-orbit misalignment of the components
We study the effect of the neutron star spin – kick velocity alignment observed in young radio pulsars on the coalescence rate of binary neutron stars. Two scenarios of the neutron star formation are considered: when the kick is always present and when it is small or absent if a neutron star is formed in a binary system due to electroncapture degenerate core collapse. The effect is shown to be ...
متن کاملSpin–orbit Misalignment as a Driver of the Kepler Dichotomy
During its five-year mission, the Kepler spacecraft has uncovered a diverse population of planetary systems with orbital configurations ranging from single-transiting planets to systems of multiple planets co-transiting the parent star. By comparing the relative occurrences of multiple to single-transiting systems, recent analyses have revealed a significant over-abundance of singles. Dubbed th...
متن کاملSpin–Orbit Misalignment in Close Binaries with Two Compact Objects
Spin–orbit misalignment in coalescing compact binaries affects their gravitational radiation waveforms. When the misalignment angles are large (∼> 30 ◦), the detection efficiency of the coalescence events can decrease significantly if the misalignment effects are not modeled. In this paper, we consider the formation of close compact binaries and calculate the expected misalignment angles after ...
متن کاملStellar spin-orbit misalignment in a multiplanet system.
Stars hosting hot Jupiters are often observed to have high obliquities, whereas stars with multiple coplanar planets have been seen to have low obliquities. This has been interpreted as evidence that hot-Jupiter formation is linked to dynamical disruption, as opposed to planet migration through a protoplanetary disk. We used asteroseismology to measure a large obliquity for Kepler-56, a red gia...
متن کاملCommon Envelope Evolution
The common envelope phase of binary star evolution plays a central role in many evolutionary pathways leading to the formation of compact objects in short period systems. Using three dimensional hydrodynamical computations, we review the major features of this evolutionary phase, focusing on the conditions that lead to the successful ejection of the envelope and, hence, survival of the system a...
